ILLUSTRATING SHEEP IN GOUACHE
On toned paper
SATURDAY 7TH & SUNDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2024

10AM - 4PM
£145

On The Holt Estate you will see the Wiltshire Horn sheep in the pastures alongside the native wildlife within a range of valuable habitats.

During this workshop we will become familiar with other breeds of sheep, some of them being rare breeds.

Using high quality photos we will look at the drawing options available to us before we start using gouache to bring our drawings to life.

The exciting and opaque medium of gouache is perfect for illustrating this subject on toned paper allowing us to create an array of textures and develop the form of our chosen breed.

We will also be examining and using different brushes that will aid us in creating the range of textures seen in animal hair and fleece.

The gouache palette we will be using is likely to be a more limited one, compared to those used on other gouache workshops.  A suggested palette of colours will be given, or alternatively you can pay for a sample palette of colours from Sarah directly.  This will be paid for in cash at the time of the workshop.

SKILL LEVEL:  This workshop is for those with some experience of detailed drawing and painting techniques.
